ATTESTATION OF POWER OF ATTORNEY

As a citizen, you may enjoy your rights and actions you want to perform, such as transferring the right to sell your own home to others or opening a bank account, not by yourself, but through your representative or proxy in Mongolia. In accordance with Article 62.3 of the Civil Code of Mongolia, the right of a trustee to represent you is established by law (namely, the right of a parent to represent a minor) and on the basis of a power of attorney. When certifying a power of attorney, the power of attorney transferring certain rights and obligations must be written in a manner that meets the requirements, and the following materials must be prepared. Required materials:

1. An unexpired foreign passport or identity card from Mongolia

2. If a power of attorney is issued on behalf of a child under the age of 18, a copy of the child's document/copy of the birth certificate of the child aged 1-16, and the identity card of the child 

3. Copy of state registration certificate of real estate in case of power of attorney related to housing and real estate

4. Service Fees

Additional requirements and comments:

- Please note that in accordance with Article 26 of the Law on Notaries, the power of attorney becomes valid when the power of attorney is signed in person.

- Credentials should be written in Cyrillic characters only.

- The validity period of the power of attorney should be clearly written and it can be from 3 months to 3 years.

- The beneficiary's registration number is written in the power of attorney.

- The trustee’s contact phone number also must be written.

- Your power of attorney will be delivered to the Consulate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs within 3 working days.

- The authorized representative will personally go to the Consulate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with his/her citizenship documents and sign the authorization. The power of attorney can be obtained from the Consular Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from Monday to Friday from 09.00 AM to 16.30 PM.

CERTIFYING, NOTARIZING, AND CERTIFYING THE ACCURACY OF COPIES OF DOCUMENTS

Copies of documents such as identity cards, birth certificates, marriage certificates, educational documents such as educational diplomas, certificates, identity cards, and real estate certificates are certified and authenticated by the Consulate General’s Notary Officer. Please note that you must bring the original document, as the authenticity of the copy is certified by comparing it with the original.
